One fellow did. He arrived in a 1/2 ton pickup truck pulling a trailer carrying an unfamiliar machine. The machine was a surefire conversation starter. I'd never seen or heard of a trailer-mounted Stump Grinder; who knew?
The stranger was a free-spirit roaming wherever in search of stumps to grind. As a "professional", his services were for hire. His situation was reminiscent of an old-west TV series about Paladin, a gun & a horse.
He ground several stumps for me that day. After payment, he noted that grinding my stumps covered the evening's food, lodging and the next day's gas expenses.
I often wonder what happened to that vagabond stump grinder. Good luck old son! And if you're ever back this way ...
