Progress
Let me be clear,
Today's future is here.
In my day,
Less a technology fray.
When communicating as a lad,
Three digits, two rings the phone had.
I toiled in days of old,
With vacuum tubes bold.
Behold a miracle took place,
When transistors entered the race.
And a technologic race no pause,
continuing integration just because.
Once computer mountains aspired,
Today only a cell phone required.
Cells of human powers,
Replaced by cells with towers.
Why learn to multiply,
when the cell can, on the fly.
Formerly conversations were told,
Today in gatherings our cells we hold.
I'm sure sales would surge,
If cells met the reproductive urge.
And I'll bet the ranch,
Your cell can't pour Bourbon and branch.
Entrepreneurs, listen to your users' screams,
As older vision blurs on smaller screens.
With daughters' help my reality has wings,
Pressure to get one of those damned things.
