Water is for bourbon and branch;
In water one can swim;
Without water there would be no fishing;
Water is the essential part of rain;
Lower the temperature and rain becomes snow;
Snow, nature's infinite, crystalline-patterned jewels;
Snow on a quiet October morn;
Flakes the size of maple leaves;
Sailing with the grace of a dancer;
Landing as soft as a down feather;
The accumulation, as serious as a puppy's growl;
Snow carried by an on-shore wind;
Zooming sideways in great sheets;
Leaving huge drifts o'er path and road;
Visibility what's that?
Hang onto the clothes-line when going for wood;
Twelve more inches tonight;
Snow falling slowly from a lead-colored sky;
Hardly noticeable as we drive by;
The wind screams, rolls, and follows the ground;
Snow-snakes quite real do appear;
Zipping to and fro;
As the wind bids them go;
Snow plowed high;
On curbs and shoulders;
Giant piles abound;
Salt, slush, sand, about us surround;
Sad and ugly this time of year;
Your season is ending and for that we cheer.
