Have Tomato Will Travel

Like most words, "Tomato" has several different meanings, including: a fruit, a plant, an attractive woman. I shall be clear as to which I refer.
OK, what about the "fruit" business? The green globes which ripen into yellow or red yums are fruit. However the tomato fruit is widely treated as a vegetable. I've never met a tomato recipe I didn't like!
In my experience, tomato plants are:

Friendly - I've never been chased or bitten by one. However, a lap tomato may be impractical.

Stoic - Always alert and on guard. However, it is a bit slow to sound alarms.

Companionable - You can talk for hours to a tomato plan. They are very attentive and never interrupt..

Excellent pets - They are easy to train and care for and don't bark or yowl at night.

Nomadic - Tomatoes enjoy high-speed transportation as long as they are given shelter and a Tomato Seat with Pot belt. However, tomatoes may suffer from sudden, radical climate changes.
The first house in which Diane & I lived was a rental. Personal touches were limited to unattached free-standing objects e.g., tables, chairs, beds, etc. Wall mounted pictures or shelves, no way. And under no circumstances were pets allowed. As I recall, the only allowable modification was cutting the grass.
The situation was temporary and we longed for personal touches. After careful analysis, we decided to adopt a potted tomato. It met all the physical limitations of portability and free-standing ness. To others it was just a plant. We used an old ash bucket for a pot. If you go that route, drill a few holes in the bottom. The plant and pot will both last longer.
We never named it. It was always just the tomato. But it happily relocated with us from south western PA to south eastern, MI.
From Roy Staley:

"I love tomatoes from my head to ma toes."
"Tomatoes are slow but they ketchup."
